39 talented netballers from across NSW converged on the Sydney Academy of Sport on the weekend as part of the Talented Athlete Program.
Undertaking a mixture of on-court strategy/skills sessions and educational components, these players have now had a taste of what to expect as they move through the NNSW player pathway.
Putting the girls through their paces were experienced NSW coaches Tracey Robinson, Rob Wright and Lenore Blades as well as Strength and Conditioning staff from the NSW Institute of Sport.
The weekend also provided the opportunity for coaches from the Western Region Academy of Sport, Central Coast Academy of Sport, Hunter Academy of Sport and North Coast Academy of Sport to attend and assist with the program delivery, not to mention enhance their knowledge by working with Robinson, Wright and Blades.
NSW Swifts Premiership Assistant Coach Tracey Robinson, was impressed with the performance of the athletes over the weekend.
“Programs such as these are great because they move the players out of their comfort zone and challenge them in a different environment,” Robinson said.
“It’s great to see the players improve across the weekend – there are some highly talented individuals in this program and we’re all looking forward to seeing them develop over the next few years.”
